I focus on what happens in between.
—
I’m Ástrós Lind,
an Icelandic photographer based in Reykjavík.
I studied filmmaking and photography, and the connection between the two has shaped the way I see and create. I’m drawn to light, atmosphere, and the in-between moments that make an image feel real.
I’ve always been a visual person. Before photography, I was working with film, storytelling, and creating scenes, which still influences how I approach my work today.
For me, photography is not just about how something looks, but how it feels. I’m interested in capturing something honest, natural, and quietly expressive. Over time, this has become not only my work, but a way of seeing and connecting with people.
I have worked independently and alongside production companies as a director of photography, editor and creative collaborator. My experience covers short films, music videos, promotional work and photography. I approach every project with ambition, careful planning and a strong sense for composition and color. Being resourceful under pressure has become one of my defining strengths and I enjoy turning challenges into thoughtful solutions.
Film sets have fascinated me since childhood and that curiosity has guided me toward a career where art and storytelling shape my everyday life. I love crafting images that carry emotional weight and I am always exploring new ways to push my craft forward. I enjoy being part of ambitious teams and I bring strong organization skills, attention to detail and reliability to every project. Learning on set has shaped me into someone who adapts quickly and contributes actively.
My goal is always to create work that feels honest and visually striking. I value the craft, the people and the constant opportunity to grow.
